Laughter is the Best Medicine

July 1st, 2008

How do you feel after a good laugh? Happy? High? Elated? Energized?

Studies have shown the physiological benefits of laughter include:

Reduced Blood Pressure
Reduces stress hormones
Increases muscle flexion in the abdomin
Boosts the immune system and raises infection-fighting cells and proteins
Helps respiration
Triggers the release of endorphins
Provides a general sense of well being

A good belly laugh is like “internal jogging” for cardiac conditioning. What makes you laugh a hearty laugh?

Yesterday I went with my family to see the movie “Get Smart”. What a fun show, and the ending was so funny. I was laughing so hard that I was crying.

Man did I feel good when that show was over. Go see the movie or whatever comedy will get you rolling with a good laugh. It’s good for the body and surely doesn’t hurt the soul.

A Grateful Heart

June 25th, 2008

“The thankful heart is always close to the creative forces of the universe, causing countless blessings to flow toward it by the law of reciprocal relationship, based on the cosmic law of action and reaction.” –Dr. Joseph Murphy

This is really the Law of Attraction, being grateful, truly filled with heartfelt gratitude and that then engages cosmic co-creation. Are you ready to co-create? Be grateful for everything, truly grateful.

The above quote is from Dr. Joseph Murphy’s book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. I can tell you that this book really rocked my world. If you want to learn more about the power of your subconscious mind in the creation process, this book is one of the best. Click on the link below to learn more.

Post Workout Recovery

June 24th, 2008

It’s important to eat the right foods after you workout, especially after strength training. I recommend that you eat within 45 minutes of your workout. This is considered the “Golden Hour” when the muscles absorb the most nutrients and glycogen, which is energy reserves in your muscles, is most efficiently replaced. So what should you eat? You should eat carbohydrates for glycogen replacement and protein for muscle repair and growth. You should eat high quality carbohydrates such as fruit or vegetables and whole grains and low fat protein. Here is a recipe for my power packed post workout recovery shake.

8-10 ounces of purified water
1 tbsp. Organic Cocoa Powder
1 Scoop Isagenix IsaPro Whey Protein powder
1 1/2 Scoops of Isagenix IsaLean Shake powder (Vanilla or Chocolate, I like the chocolate)
1 small handful of organic blueberries
1 tbsp. Barlean’s Organic Flax Oil

Mix together in blender and drink. You may want to put a few icecube in if desired.

This post workout shake is full of antioxidants (blueberries and cocoa), amino acids, enzymes, trace minerals, high quality undenatured whey protein, fructose, essential fatty acids, fiber, is low in sodium and is gluten free.

I always feel great after drinking this shake whether I have just worked out or I am just starting my day. It is a great meal replacement for weight loss and optimal health as well. Click here to learn more about Isagenix products and feel free to call me with any additional questions.

Harmony from the Inside Out

June 21st, 2008

This morning I was taking my fitness walk around the neighborhood, which is my daily summer routine, enjoying the beauty of a particularly serene morning. I was in an absolutely harmonious mood, feeling connected to all of life. I was listening to my iPod and David Cook’s winning song from American Idol which I consider one of my Power Songs because it so inspires me.

As I was walking in this incredible state of bliss, I had the pleasure of catching the pungent aroma of honeysuckle which is growing on a neighbors fence. I took it all in allowing it to dazzle my senses and in a moments flash it was all gone as a construction truck drove by and I was sucked into the smell of diesel fumes. My nose instantly turned up and I was just about to complain to myself, when I remembered a quote from James Ray’s new book Harmonic Wealth which says “Heaven starts within, my friend, and true harmony can be had whether you smell the roses or diesel fumes”. In an instant I was able to shift back to harmony.

Here is David Cook’s inspiring song as well. May it inspire you as it inspires me.

Greet the Day

June 19th, 2008

I was reading an article in the newspaper this morning about Tim Russert’s funeral and all of the political leaders and TV journalists who attended to pay tribute to him. If you are unfamiliar with him, he was the host of NBC’s show, Meet the Press and recently passed away. As it talked about the people who honored him and former New York govenor Mario Cuomo was one of the speakers there. He was quoted as saying about Russert:

“He regarded a day greeted without real enthusiam as a sadly lost opportunity.”

How are you greeting your day? Are you greeting it with enthusiasm for the opportunities and possibilities that await you or are you dreading the tasks, work and issues that you have to deal with?

Optimism my friend, will extend your life and the quality of your life.

You Choose!!!

Paradigm Shift

June 17th, 2008

Why aren’t you creating the results that you want to create in your life? Have you given it some thought?

I would like to introduce you to the concept of paradigms. Paradigms are your entire collection of thoughts and beliefs and you operate with those in your world. Unless you have been doing a lot of inner work on yourself, you are operating in your world unconsciously or based on the programming you have received since you were a young child.

At annettepieper.com, we provide tools and resources to help you shift your paradigm. My coaching programs, products, classes, newsletter, blog, and tele-seminars are created to help you make a paradigm shift. Listen below to one of the masters and one of my mentors talk about making a paradigm shift:

June 6th, 2008

My good friend Jim Hawks, is a mystic poet. He has written some amazing insightful and soulful poems. He spoke at our Toastmasters meeting today and the poem he shared in his speech is fabulous. It is a great reminder to have gratitude for who we are because we are perfect. I would like to share this poem and extend deep gratitude to my friend Jim for sharing his beautiful gift.

It’s June…Yahoo!!!

June 3rd, 2008

Happy June! I love the month of June. It is my favorite month of the year. Of course it is the month when summer begins which is my favorite season, it is the time of summer solstice and it is my birth month. I am a summer gal born right at summer solstice, the longest amount of daylight in the year, which according to the Gregorian Lunar Calendar happened on June 22, 1959 which is my birthday. I am also a moon child born in the sign of Cancer so I am very much in tune with the lunar cycles.

Get ready for an exciting month. The summer solstice is about tapping into that solar energy to move us into action. Are you taking action towards your dreams? I have three great products to tell you about to get you moving into action.

First is my new weight loss program “BodyWise Hypnosis for Weight Loss and Optimal Health”. Are you ready for summer? This program will assist you at creating optimal health and achieving your ideal body weight and size so that you have the energy to enjoy the summer fun.

James Ray’s new book “Harmonic Wealth” will provide you additional tools to get you moving towards your dreams and create “Harmonic Wealth” in all areas of your life.

During the month of June, I am offering a special on all three products. You can purchase them separately for a great price or for the best deal, purchase all three together. Give them out at Summer Solstice Gifts. Visit my online store for details.

Anchors

June 1st, 2008

Today is the 5th anniversary of my father’s death. I miss him terribly. Today I decided to go to the cemetary and take some flowers to his grave as I did not make it for Memorial Day. I went out into my yard and cut some Bearded Iris. We always called these flowers “flags” when I was growing up and every year on Memorial Day, we would take old coffee cans, cover them in foil, put some rocks in the bottom to weigh them down and put “flags” in them and take them to my grandparents graves. This was a big anchor for me this morning. I could smell the sweet smell of the iris as I cut them and it reminded me of my childhood and my dad because he always grew the most beautiful “flags”.

I headed over to the cemetary and put the flowers in the vase. I stayed there for just a minute. I don’t get a feeling of my dad at the cemetary. It does not really have an anchor for me and I don’t feel his spirit there so I left and went to where my dad is…at his home.

When I got there my mom was away at church so I unlocked the garage door and as soon as I walked in I began to tear up and sob. This is where my dad is…in his garage and his yard and his shop and his shed. As soon as I was hit with the smell of gas, oil and the smell of a man’s garage, I could feel my dad with me. As soon as I spotted his car repair manuals, his Crystal Gayle poster and his Nascar posters, my dad was with me. This is a huge anchor for me and it never fails whenever I walk into my dad’s garage, I feel my dad.

I wanted to honor my dad today and I felt that a trip to the cemetary would do the trick but as I left there, I knew that was not the best way to honor my dad. I stopped at the store afterwards and purchased a large bouquet of flowers and took them to my mom to comfort her and remind her of how much I love her and how truly blessed I feel to have her in my life. My mom returned home right as I was leaving. I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her and gave her the flowers.

That’s the best way I know to honor my dad.

Annette
