The holidays are coming and we all know what that means. Food, Food and more
Food. What kind of food? A lot of rich, calorie laden food that we normally don’t eat.
Treats abound at the office. There are goodies at the bank teller’s window. Luscious, eye catching treats are everywhere. Samples are a favorite holiday offering at stores and malls.
Then there are the parties! Tables of goodies, big plates, and grazing; eating opportunities are endless during the holidays.
Stress comes into the picture as we shop to find the perfect gift, battle the crowds; overspend and over commit.
What can you do to get through the holidays with a maximum level of sanity?
On November 1st 2007 at 7:00pm MT, join me for the first in my LifeWise tele-seminar series to explore this topic.
This hour long tele-seminar is at no-cost to you, only an investment of your time.
I will be discussing BodyWise techniques and strategies to keep you light, healthy and sane through the holiday hoopla.
Sign up on my website for this wonderful opportunity before you dip too far into your kids Halloween bags, or before the office and your hips and waist become the disposal site for the leftover trick or treat candy.
Space is limited so don’t hesitate. If you need more information, email me at info@annettepieper.com
I found this poem sitting on my fridge. It has been there for a long time. It was given to me by a horse whisperer. I don’t remember her name or if she wrote it but it is beautiful and I wanted to share it.
“Walk softly on Mother Earth sweet child.
As grandfather sun rises in the early morning
Turn your day over to the Great Spirit.
Be open and willing to live this day to the fullest.
You do not nave to do it all this day,
For the sun will rise in the east tomorrow.
Live in balance and harmony with all things and
All things will be in balance and harmony with you.
Remember sweet child that there is never a wrong way.
And that your way is a good way.
You are a heart listener. Follow what you hear.
Your heart will never lead you down the wrong path.
Now as the sun sets in the west be thankful for all the
Gifts you have received this day.
When you start your journey into the dream world remember
You are Love
You are Light
You are One with All Things.” Anonymous
Our youth are our promise for the future. Are we supporting them like we should? Are we giving them the tools that they need to succeed? Are we helping to catch the teens that are lost before they destroy themselves with drugs, sex, alcohol, crime or suicide?
I have two teenage boys ages 14 and 17. As a parent I am concerned that they are getting the support that they need to avoid some of the traps that I fell into as a teen and to grow and thrive in this rapidly changing world. I do my best to be a supportive parent and sometimes it takes more than that.
Last spring I had the opportunity to enroll them in a weekend course called “Motivating the Teen Spirit”. This is a program that was developed by Lisa Nichols. You may know Lisa from her appearance in the movie “The Secret”. She has also appeared on “Oprah” and “Larry King Live”.
Lisa’s company provides teen empowerment programs to help our youth grow and thrive through the challenges of their teenage years. Her programs are interactive and help create a safe atmosphere for them to share and communicate with each other and with their family.
My teens had the opportunity to attend this workshop again a week ago and it is amazing to see the transformation that they have made. Unfortunately, there are many teens who are unable to participate because of the cost involved; kids who are on the verge of suicide, kids who are participating in unsafe, unhealthy activities.
Fortunately, there is a way that you can help. Lisa has a teen sponsership program where you can financially sponser a teen or many teens who would otherwise be unable to participate so that they have an opportunity to learn life skills which could transform their lives. This program helps them build self-esteem and make empowered choices. By supporting this program you discover a great way to give and show gratitude for the blessings in your life.
I know this is a program I will continue to support. I have experienced portions of the workshop myself and have seen the positive changes in my own children.
What if you could shift your mood in just two minutes, how would that change your day? So many times it is easy to shift from a good mood to a bad mood. Something happens, we get angry or frustrated and shift our mood in an instant yet when we are in that state, it can be a challenge to shift back. I have found a 2 minutes visualization video based on the movie “The Secret” that can help you make that shift easily and effortlessly. Bookmark my blog so that you can view this video when you need a boost.
